At the heart of KORTX’s thriving client partnerships stands a team of dedicated professionals working tirelessly to understand and meet customer needs. Account Managers are the primary link between internal teams and outside clients, maintaining client relationships and utilizing their expertise to provide personalized digital media advertising solutions across our offerings.

Among these skilled individuals is Jess Ostrom, our VP of Client Services, who shapes quality client relationships. Jess has been on the KORTX team since November 2017, working her way up from an Account Manager to Director to VP in a little over two years.

Join us as we meet Jess Ostrom, exploring her leadership approach, insights into her role, and what she loves to do outside of work.

Explain your role here at KORTX. What team do you lead?

I lead the Account Management team, where we prioritize strengthening client relationships. We achieve this through outstanding customer service, data storytelling, and proactively identifying and bringing unique campaign insights, trends, and recommendations to the table. Additionally, I partner with other departments as a client advocate to ensure we’re developing the best products and services for our partners.

What do you love about KORTX?

The people! So many smart and kind people surround me that it makes coming to work every day enjoyable.

I love that we challenge the status quo. We don’t just accept a campaign at its surface–we ask questions, dive deeper, and explore ways to make it better. We work in a dynamic industry and have to embrace the fast-paced change that comes with it. This definitely makes each day a little different!

What are your goals regarding your role for the team and the company?

I want to continue to make things easy not only for our clients but for my team as well. I’m always looking for ways to find efficiencies in our day-to-day lives. When we can align efficiency with quality service, it creates a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Tell us a little about your experience before joining KORTX.

Before KORTX, I worked primarily in automotive marketing across a variety of roles (Sales, Account Management, and Ad Operations). Over the years, I developed a passion for crafting compelling stories from data and presenting them in an accessible way for clients. This guided me to my current role here at KORTX.

What’s your biggest challenge in your role?

Although I love how dynamic the digital marketing world can be, it’s also a huge challenge in my role. I like to joke that I’m a “forever college student” because there’s always something new to learn. Because of this, it means I can’t be complacent in my day to day.

What are your favorite things to do outside of work?

I truly love spending time with my family. We go on mini-adventures together, whether going to Tigers games or cheering on the Spartans (GO GREEN! 💚🤍💚🤍) or taking weekend trips to the UP (that means Upper Peninsula for non-Michiganders). These shared experiences are dear to me.

Who in your life has inspired you the most?

My grandma. I can literally spend hours on the phone with her, filled with her unwavering positivity. When I ask her how her day’s going, she always starts with, “Well my feet hit the ground, so I can’t complain!” Her cheerful outlook is truly inspiring.

If you were forced to sing karaoke, what song would you choose and why?

“Have It All” by Jason Mraz. It’s such an uplifting song and resonates with how I feel about my kids.
